Hydroponics Method1. Water insertion methodCut semi-lignified leafy branches about 10 cm long with 2-3 nodes or more from old Schefflera plants, cut off the lower leaves of the branches, leaving only 1-2 palmate compound leaves on the upper part, immerse the lower 2/3 of the Schefflera in a glass container filled with clean water and place it in a bright place indoors. In the early stage of hydroponic culture of Schefflera arborvitae, the temperature needs to be kept above 15℃. Usually, white callus tissue begins to form at the cut ends of the Schefflera arborvitae branches immersed in water after about 10 days, and adventitious roots soon differentiate from these places. After about 45 days, the branches of Schefflera arborvitae planted in water will grow roots more than 6 cm long and white root hairs, and can then be managed normally. 2. Remove from the pot and wash the rootsCarefully remove the soil-grown Schefflera from the soil, clean the soil at the roots of the Schefflera, and plant it in a transparent glass bottle with clean water (tap water needs to be stored for 2-3 days). In the early stage of hydroponic cultivation of Schefflera arborvitae, the water needs to be changed every 2 or 3 days, and the temperature should be kept above 15°C. If you give the hydroponic Schefflera arborvitae proper light, it will grow lush and green. Maintenance methodsWater changesFor hydroponic Schefflera, the water needs to be changed once a week. Adding some hydroponic plant nutrient solution every time you change the water can make the hydroponic Schefflera grow better. The water level of the hydroponic Schefflera arborvitae should not be too high, and the trunk of the Schefflera arborvitae should not be soaked. temperatureThe suitable temperature for the growth of Schefflera is 15-25℃, and it can also grow above 30℃. The wintering temperature should not be lower than 5℃, otherwise the leaves of Schefflera arborvitae will fall off. illuminationSchefflera needs sufficient light to grow, and abundant sunlight can make the leaves of Schefflera bright. Schefflera is shade-tolerant and its leaves can remain dark green even in semi-shade. However, it is still necessary to expose Schefflera to the sun regularly, but avoid exposure to the scorching sun in summer. pruneSchefflera grows fast, so pay attention to shaping and pruning. |
