How to hydroponically cultivate Phalaenopsis

How to hydroponically cultivate Phalaenopsis

Hydroponic Phalaenopsis operation steps

Cleaning the root system

First, use clean water to thoroughly clean the planting material at the roots of Phalaenopsis, and carefully remove dead and rotten roots. If conditions permit, flower lovers can also soak the roots in fungicides, and then place the plants in a cool place to dry.

Choosing a hydroponic container

When choosing a hydroponic container, it is recommended to use a transparent glass bottle. The advantage is that you can clearly see the growth of the roots at any time. Secondly, the light transmittance helps the growth of the roots and makes the roots develop more beautifully.

Fixed plants

Then carefully insert the dried plant into the selected container. At this time, there may be a problem with the plant not being fixed well. There are two solutions to this problem.

Method 1: If the size of the plant is suitable for the container, no additional fixing measures are required, and the support can be achieved by the leaves of the Phalaenopsis.

Method 2: If conditions permit, use a suitable planting basket with the selected container;

Method three: You can also take a wire of appropriate thickness and wrap it into a ring, wrap it from the root to the stem, and then hook it on the mouth of the container. The winding method can be determined according to personal circumstances.

Water spray maintenance

After the plant is fixed in the container, the main purpose of adding water to the container is to increase the air humidity through evaporation. After adding water, it is best not to let the water contact the roots. Of course, it is okay for the water to slightly touch the root tip. Then, control the air humidity according to the actual temperature of the environment and spray water in appropriate amounts.

Rooting and growing leaves

After all the above work is done, you can start the long waiting process. The duration of the seedling acclimatization period is determined by the original state of the plant, so it will be different. Generally, new roots and new leaves will appear in 2-4 weeks.
