Bonsai production and maintenance of Pinus truncatula

Bonsai production and maintenance of Pinus truncatula

Preparation method

Choose basin shape

The specific shape of the pot can be determined according to the shape of the philadelphus flabellifer. It can be square or round. Generally, we choose a rectangular medium-shallow pot. If the tree shape is cliff-like, a deeper thousand-tube pot is generally chosen; if the tree shape is curved-trunk, a drum-shaped shallow round pot is generally chosen. The materials usually chosen for pots for growing Schefflera chinensis include purple clay pottery or glazed pottery.

Select Tree

The tree shapes of the Toraja sphaerocephala are varied, including straight trunk, slanted trunk, curved trunk and cliff type, each with its own characteristics. The straight-trunk pine is tall and vigorous, with an ancient flavor; the slanted-trunk one spirals like a sleeping dragon; the cliff-trunk one is like a steep mountain with a dragon poking its head out, which is really spectacular.

Choose the soil

There are many soils suitable for cycas revoluta. Choose deep, loose, well-drained, slightly acidic soil, but do not choose soil with high salinity and alkalinity. You can also add sand and soil to mix.

Post-processing

If you plant the cycas revoluta in a shallow pot, you need to pay attention to reinforcing the branches and trunk. You can tie them around the roots with wire, being careful not to damage the roots, and then pass them through the round hole at the bottom of the pot. The later processing of the flaxseed pine is mainly based on climbing and tying, using metal wire. Select some young saplings, about 2 to 3 years old, bend the trunks of the saplings, trim the side branches, and tie them up on the pine trees in a horizontal or downward position. After one year of growth, remove the metal wire for adjustment, and tie it up again. It will take shape in a few years.

Maintenance

temperature

The temperature at which the cycas revoluta can grow is above 15℃, so be careful not to let the temperature be too low in winter, otherwise the cycas revoluta will stop growing. The suitable temperature for its growth is between 20℃ and 30℃.

illumination

The cycas revoluta should be grown in a semi-shaded place, especially in the summer to avoid direct sunlight, otherwise the leaves will lack water and become scorched. At the same time, pay attention to ventilation.

Moisture

During the vigorous growth period of the cycads, sufficient water should be given, but water should not accumulate in the pot, otherwise the roots will suffer from lack of oxygen and die. In slow-growing seasons such as winter, frequent watering is not necessary, just keep the soil moist.

fertilizer

Fertilization should be carried out on a monthly basis, especially nitrogen and potassium fertilizers are most suitable and can promote the growth of Schefflera chinensis.
