Methods and precautions for growing cauliflower on the balcony

How to grow cauliflower

Select pot

Planting cauliflower requires a container that can accommodate a soil thickness of more than 30 cm to ensure the free growth of the cauliflower roots and the nutrient supply of the above-ground cauliflower.

sowing

Sow the seeds in a slightly larger open space or culture container. Cauliflower seeds are very small, so be sure to spread them evenly. Then cover the seeds on the exposed ground with a layer of organic soil, water them and wait for them to germinate. They can usually be transplanted within a week.

Transplanting

To transplant the cauliflower seedlings from the culture soil, you can move the seedlings with the original soil, then plant them in the prepared pots or other containers, straighten them, compact them, and water them.

Harvest

It takes about three months from planting to harvesting cauliflower, and the cauliflower can only be picked when it is fully formed and grown.

Things to note when growing cauliflower on the balcony

Cauliflower is a vegetable that likes warmth. It not only has poor drought resistance, but also cannot tolerate waterlogging. It is best to keep the soil moist and not flooded or dry. Secondly, nitrogen fertilizer should be continuously added during the growing period of cauliflower. Once the fertility cannot keep up, the cauliflower plants will wilt, produce secondary flowers, and other phenomena that will prevent them from growing well. Finally, attention should also be paid to the supply of some trace element fertilizers.
