Anthurium, also known as anthurium and flamingo flower, is a plant of the Araceae family and the Anthurium genus. Not only does it have beautiful flowers and leaves and is highly ornamental, it also has strong air purification capabilities, making it very suitable for indoor potted plant maintenance. So how can we grow Anthurium more vigorously? Let’s learn more about it below. 1. Pot soil Ceramic or plastic pots are generally used to plant Anthuriums, and the size is generally determined according to the size of the seedlings. The soil should be well-drained, humus-rich, loose, fertile, slightly acidic soil. The culture soil can be made by mixing peat soil, perlite , river sand, leaf mold and base fertilizer. 2. Temperature The optimum temperature for the growth of Anthurium is 18℃-28℃, the maximum temperature should not exceed 35℃, and the minimum temperature is 14℃. Frost damage may occur at any time if the temperature is below 10℃. During the high temperatures in summer, cooling measures need to be taken, such as increasing ventilation and providing appropriate shade. When the temperature drops in winter, move it indoors to overwinter. 3. Lighting Anthurium does not require much light, and the plant can be placed in a semi-shaded place for cultivation. Direct sunlight or excessive light can easily burn the leaves and flowers, and the leaves and flowers are prone to fade. 4. Watering Anthurium likes a humid environment, is not drought-tolerant, and is afraid of waterlogging, so the frequency of watering it should be controlled. In spring and autumn, it is generally watered every three or four days. In summer, the temperature is high, so it needs to be watered every two or three days, and it also needs to be sprayed with water frequently. Winter is its flowering period, and the water demand is also high. It needs to be watered about once every five days to ensure that the soil is moist, but no water can accumulate. 5. Fertilization Anthurium likes fertilizer, but cannot tolerate concentrated fertilizer. Generally, top dressing begins after new leaves grow in spring, and apply 10 times liquid fertilizer mixed with an equal amount of 1000 times potassium dihydrogen phosphate liquid, or 1000 times "Hua Duoduo" general fertilizer once every 10 days. Stop fertilizing after the temperature drops to 15℃ in late autumn. 6. Ventilation When growing anthuriums indoors, it is easy for the roots to rot and the leaves to turn black after watering. The main reason is poor ventilation. Therefore, ventilation must be strengthened, especially opening windows for ventilation when watering. 7. Pruning During the growth of Anthurium, the petiole at the base gradually degenerates, and the stipules can be cut off in time when they become dry. When the pedicels turn yellow after flowering, they must be cut off as soon as possible from the base, leaving a 2 cm protective stump. In general, the care of anthurium is not difficult. The key is to master the above-mentioned techniques. Basically, there will be no problems, and it can ensure that the anthurium grows well and vigorously.
