Horse chestnut is mainly harmed by leaf spot, powdery mildew, anthracnose and sunscald, which can be sprayed with 1000 times diluted 70% methyl thiophanate wettable powder.

Prevention and treatment methods

Leaf spot, powdery mildew and anthracnose can be treated by spraying with 1000 times dilution of 70% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder. Sunburn can whiten tree trunks in late fall or early summer. The formula of whitewash agent is: first dissolve 10 parts of quicklime and 2 parts of salt with a small amount of water, then add 1 part of sulfur powder and 0.2 powder of washing powder, mix well, then add 40 parts of water and mix well.

Sunscald: occurs on tree trunks in summer. You can whitewash the trunks in late autumn or early summer to prevent sunscald. You can also cover the base of the trunks with dead grass or straw to prevent sunscald.

The spiny moth: The larvae feed on leaves. Good prevention and control effects can be achieved by spraying 800-1000 times diluted 90% trichlorfon or 4000-5000 times diluted 15% cypermethrin in time at the early stage of the pest.
