How to save the fortune tree when its trunk is half rotten

How to save the fortune tree when its trunk is half rotten

1. Pruning

If you find that the trunk of the money tree is rotten, you should trim it in time. If not pruned in time, these rotten parts may attract bacteria and cause the plant to become sick. Before pruning, disinfect the knives with disinfectant to avoid bacterial infection. When pruning, the rotten parts need to be completely cut off.

2. Disinfection

After cutting off the rotten tree trunk, the wound needs to be disinfected. You can choose fungicides for flowers that can kill pathogens, such as thiophanate-methyl and carbendazim. After selecting the fungicide, pour it into a container and add one thousand to two thousand times of clean water to dilute it. After preparing the solution, place the wounded side of the plant into the solution and soak it for about thirty minutes. After disinfection is completely completed, take it out and place it in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

3. Root pruning

After the money tree is dried, the roots need to be pruned to remove some broken, aging and diseased roots. If you cut off a lot of roots, you can apply some rooting liquid to it to promote root regrowth, and then let it dry.

4. Replanting

Replanting requires changing the soil first. Replace it with loose and breathable soil and fill it into the flowerpot, then replant the dried plant into the soil. After planting, you can place it in a warm environment with a temperature of about 20 degrees. After about 20 days, the plant will grow new roots and sprout.
