What to do if the leaves of Spathiphyllum are burnt

What to do if the leaves of Spathiphyllum are burnt

1. Reduce sunlight

Spathiphyllum requires a certain amount of light during its growth, but it usually prefers diffuse light. If it is exposed to strong light for a long time, the leaves will lack water and dry up, making the tip of the leaves look burnt. When you find that the tips of the leaves are turning black, you need to move to a place with weak light. The summer sunlight is too strong, so be sure to block the sunlight. You can block more than 60% of the sunlight and only expose it to soft scattered light.

2. Dilute Fertilizer

During the maintenance process, if concentrated fertilizer or raw fertilizer is accidentally applied, the roots of the plant will not be able to bear it, resulting in root burn and the tip of the leaves will be affected, appearing burnt. When too much fertilizer is applied and it is too concentrated, you can water it to dilute it, and also allow the excess fertilizer to flow down from the bottom with the water. If there is too much fertilizer, you can directly replace the potting soil.

3. Reduce moisture

Although Spathiphyllum likes water, if too much water is applied, water will accumulate in the soil in the pot, causing the roots to rot. The root's function of transporting water and nutrients will be weakened, and the leaf tips will not be able to absorb water and fertilizer, causing the leaf tips to dry out, as if they were burnt. If you find that too much water has been applied, you need to stop watering immediately, loosen the soil in time, and place it in a well-ventilated place to promote water evaporation.
