Why is the osmanthus tree shedding leaves?

Why is the osmanthus tree shedding leaves?

1. Too much water

Osmanthus needs reasonable watering during its growth. It is afraid of waterlogging. If you do not pay attention to the control of water volume in daily life, or the frequency of watering is too frequent, it may cause damage to the roots and affect the absorption and transportation functions. If there is not much water in the potting soil, you can loosen the soil inside and place it in a well-ventilated place to promote water evaporation so that the plant can recover as soon as possible. If there is too much water, you can consider changing the soil in the pot.

2. Infection with pests and diseases

In summer, the air is hot and stuffy, and it is difficult to circulate normally, which may breed pests and diseases and cause leaves to fall off. Normally, more ventilation is needed. After being infected with pests and diseases, the diseased branches need to be cut off and treated by spraying pesticides.

3. Excess nutrients

Growth requires nutrient supplementation, but if fertilizer is applied without considering the growth needs, it is likely to cause a large excess of nutrients, which will accumulate at the roots and be difficult to absorb, causing root burn and causing the osmanthus to lose leaves. Normally, you should apply light fertilizer. If you accidentally apply too much fertilizer, you can add water to promote the discharge of fertilizer.

4. Strong sunlight

Osmanthus trees need sunlight to grow, but if the sunlight is too strong, it will burn the leaves, causing them to turn yellow and fall off. You can quickly move the osmanthus to a cool place and wait for it to recover.
