When to plant Japanese knotweed

It is usually more suitable to plant Japanese knotweed in spring and autumn, when the temperature gradually becomes stable and suitable for its growth. There are two planting methods for Japanese knotweed: sowing and root division. It takes 2-3 years for the seeds to mature after planting, while root division can shorten the maturity time.

Planting time in the north and south : The time suitable for planting Japanese knotweed in the south and the north is different. The south is mostly planted in autumn, while the north is more suitable for spring planting due to temperature reasons.

Greenhouse planting time : Polygonum cuspidatum can be planted in a greenhouse. There is no time limit for planting Polygonum cuspidatum in a greenhouse, but Polygonum cuspidatum only matures once a year, so the benefit is not very obvious.

Polygonum cuspidatum is mainly produced in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan and other places.

Zhejiang knotweed

Zhejiang knotweed is usually planted in April each year and matures around September. The Zhejiang knotweed is short cylindrical segments or irregular thick slices, 1 to 7 cm long, 0.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter, and has a brown skin.

Jiangsu knotweed

Jiangsu knotweed is usually planted in late May and matures in early October. Jiangsu knotweed has longitudinal wrinkles and root scars, a thin bark on the cut surface, a wide wood, and high medicinal value.
