Why doesn't jasmine sprout in spring?

Why doesn't jasmine sprout in spring?

1. No pruning

Spring is a period of vigorous growth. If you don't pay attention to pruning, various branches and leaves will grow out in a disorderly manner. If you let them grow, they will consume nutrients and new buds will not be able to grow. You can pinch and top the tree to remove the growth point at the top. This will promote the growth of side branches, and the new buds will grow naturally. The growth rate during this period is relatively rapid, so it doesn't matter if you accidentally cut it too hard.

2. Too much watering

If no new sprouts appear for a long time in spring, it may be because you water the plant too much, causing the soil in the pot to be too moist and water to accumulate in the pot. This makes it difficult for the roots to breathe, and the roots will rot over time, the leaves on top will turn yellow, and no new sprouts will appear. Although the amount of water needed during this period is relatively high, be careful not to use too much. Wait until the soil in the pot becomes slightly dry and white before applying the next watering.

3. Too little light

If you want jasmine to bloom, light is essential. If the light conditions cannot be guaranteed and the plant is kept in a dark environment all the time, chlorophyll cannot be synthesized and it will be impossible to sprout new buds. You can place the plant in a sunny place and provide light according to seasonal changes.
