How to reproduce the peach

How to reproduce the peach

Preparation before breeding

This tree is best propagated by bud grafting, and the best time is July or August. The rootstock should be selected to have a dwarfing effect after grafting, and you can choose longevity peach, etc. Grafting also requires choosing a suitable container. If the wrong container is chosen, it will easily affect future growth. You can choose a container that can coordinate with the shape of the tree, the ornamental part and the surrounding environment. Water cannot seep around it, otherwise it will easily cause salt accumulation, which will affect the growth of the plant.

Matrix configuration

When cultivating ornamental red peach, you need to put perlite, bark and other planting materials in the container, but you need to choose according to the characteristics of the area. However, if you want to use bark, you cannot use it directly, but must pile it up for more than 1 month. Only by mastering the correct proportions can the plants grow better.

Key points of breeding

The grafted part should be 5-10cm above the ground. One advantage here is that you can graft your favorite flowers of different colors onto the same rootstock, so that you can enjoy many varieties at the same time. For potted plants, the root system's ability to resist cold may be a little weaker, so when the temperature is low, if you cannot bring it indoors, you must keep it warm, otherwise the plant will easily get frostbite.

Post-breeding management

If it is still in the seedling stage, after it survives, the rootstock should be cut off in time in spring, and attention should be paid to water and fertilizer management during this period. If managed well, the branches will quickly become thicker during this period. In order to adapt to potted plants, the extension of the root system should be controlled as much as possible, so that the number of roots can be increased and the plant can be potted in the second year. When it is blooming, try to ensure its water supply, because it will bloom a lot and consume more water.
