Why are the leaves of longevity bamboo dry?

Why are the leaves of longevity bamboo dry?

1. Too much light

Reason: Kalanchoe cannot tolerate strong light, and a cool environment is more suitable for its growth. Too strong light can cause the roots and stems to die from sunburn and cause the leaves to dry up.

Solution: Place the longevity bamboo in a semi-shaded place. The daily sunlight time is about 1-2 hours, and proper shading will make it grow faster. In summer, the leaves are usually exposed to sunlight only in the early morning or evening, and the leaves may be burned at other times.

2. Excessive watering

Reason: Longevity bamboo needs plenty of water to grow, but if it is watered too much and the roots are flooded, they will rot and the leaves will dry out.

Solution: Remove the Kalanchoe from the pot and check the condition of the roots. After cutting off the rotten roots, place them in a solution of carbendazim for disinfection. Repot into dry soil and reduce watering. When watering, the soil in the pot should be kept slightly moist, not too wet or too dry.

3. Air Drying

Reason: Kalanchoe prefers a humid environment. Dry air will accelerate the loss of water in the leaves, causing them to dry out.

Solution: In addition to watering on time, you can also spray water on the leaves to increase humidity, or sprinkle water on the ground. It should be noted that if the air circulation is poor and the environment is too humid, it is not good either, as it will breed bacteria and cause disease.

4. The temperature is too low

Reason: Kalanchoe bamboo is not suitable for growing in low temperature environment. Temperatures that are too low can cause frostbite, making the roots unable to absorb water and the leaves dry out.

Solution: Move the Kalanchoe to a warmer place indoors. The temperature is controlled between 18-26℃ so that it can resume growth faster. If the room temperature cannot be reached, you can put a bag on it to keep it warm, and take it off for a while every day to let it breathe.
