What to do if the tip of the leaf of Aspidistra dries up

What to do if the tip of the leaf of Aspidistra dries up

1. Proper shade

Reason: Too much light can cause the leaves of the Aspidistra to be burned and dry out.

Solution: Although Aspidistra needs light, the sunlight after noon will cause greater damage to it, so it needs appropriate shade. You can also place it in a bright place indoors, where it can grow better with scattered light.

2. Spray water to cool down

Reason: Continuous high temperature weather causes the leaves of Aspidistra to lose water, resulting in the leaf tips drying up.

Solution: Aspidistra grows best at temperatures between 10-25℃, and needs to be cooled in hot weather. You can sprinkle water on the ground to cool it down through evaporation, or you can put it in a cool place. But don't put it under air conditioning, as this is not good for its growth.

3. Root pruning and replanting

Cause: Watering or over-fertilizing the Aspidistra plant causes its roots to rot, affecting its ability to absorb water, causing the leaf tips to dry out.

Solution: If root rot is caused by excessive watering, the water must be drained out first. Then take it out of the pot, cut off the rotten roots and soak it in carbendazim to disinfect it. After drying, replant it. To prevent root rot caused by concentrated fertilizer, you need to remove the plant, rinse the soil around the roots with clean water, and cut off the burned roots. Disinfect with carbendazim, then replace with new soil and replant.

4. Proper watering

Reason: Aspidistra likes a humid environment. If the soil is dry for a long time, the leaf tips will dry out.

Solution: Water the Aspidistra in time. During its growing period, water it sufficiently to ensure the soil is moist. You can also spray water on the leaves every day and cover them with bags to keep them moist.
