How to sow dianthus seeds and when to sow them

How to sow dianthus seeds and when to sow them

1. Sowing time

Choose the right time for sowing. Judging from its germination habits, the suitable temperature is between 20 and 22 degrees, so it is more suitable for sowing in autumn, specifically between October and November each year.

2. Soil Selection

Before sowing, you need to prepare suitable soil, and make sure it has good drainage, is breathable and loose. It is recommended to mix one part leaf mold, one part nutrient soil and one part river sand. The flower pots for potted plants should be of moderate height and made of materials with good air permeability.

3. Sowing seeds into the soil

After preparing the soil, you can plant the selected seeds. The sowing method is very simple. Just sprinkle the seeds on it. After sowing, cover it with a thin layer of soil and water it thoroughly to make the environment moist. Then place it in a cool and well-ventilated place, cover it with plastic film to keep it warm and moist. It will take about five days for it to germinate.

4. Post-maintenance

The seedlings will grow out in about 10 days after germination and can be planted in pots. If you want the seedlings to grow better, you must pay attention to the maintenance methods. Be careful not to damage the roots when planting. It needs more sunlight every day, enough light hours, and water it frequently to keep the soil moist. In addition, fertilizer should be applied regularly according to the growth trend, so that the seedlings will grow more vigorously and bloom earlier.
