Why does the gardenia drop its leaves?

Why does the gardenia drop its leaves?

1. The soil in the pot is too wet

When caring for gardenias, improper watering and excessive watering will cause water accumulation in the pot, making it difficult for the roots to breathe, leading to suffocation and rot, and problems with the normal transportation function. If the necessary water and nutrients are not supplied, the leaves will lack water and fall off. Pay attention to the amount of water applied during routine maintenance. If there is too much water, place the plant in a ventilated place to promote evaporation.

2. Air Drying

Its native habitat is in the relatively humid south, so it has certain requirements for humidity. If the growing environment is too dry and the humidity is low, the plant will find it difficult to adapt and its leaves will fall off. During the cultivation process, you can spray water appropriately and spray clean water around to increase the humidity and ensure a relative air humidity of more than 70%.

3. Bad air

If there is a toxic gas leak indoors and the plants are accidentally exposed to it during growth, it will affect the growth of the plants and may cause leaves to fall. In this case, ventilation needs to be strengthened to promote the circulation of fresh air so that the plants can be exposed to new air.

4. Low temperature

The suitable temperature for it is 8-10℃. If the surrounding temperature is low during its growth, or it is exposed to cold wind, it will be attacked by the cold wind and cause the leaves to fall off, so the temperature range must be maintained during maintenance.
