Reasons why Christmas cactus does not bloom

Reasons why Christmas cactus does not bloom

1. Too much light

Reason: Christmas cactus is a short-day plant. If it is exposed to too much light or too strongly, it will be difficult for it to bud and it will not bloom.

Solution: Since it is a short-day plant, give it a short period of light. Place it in a well-lit place during the day and avoid exposure to light at night. In addition, in the hot summer weather, it is necessary to provide shade.

2. The temperature is too low

Reason: If the temperature of the breeding environment is too low, it will be difficult for it to bloom and the flower buds may be frostbitten.

Solution: Provide it with a growth environment of 15-25℃, and the minimum temperature should not be lower than 15℃. When the temperature is too low, it is best to keep it indoors and take good warming measures. Be careful not to place the plant too close to a heater.

3. The temperature difference is too large

Reason: Too much temperature difference between morning and evening will damage the flower buds or cause them to fall off. Especially around November, the temperature changes rapidly.

Solution: When the temperature difference is large, you need to adjust the temperature. You can place it outdoors in sunlight during the day, and try to place it in a warm place indoors at night.

4. Large amount of watering

Reason: Christmas cactus needs a moist growing environment. If you water it too much, it will not bloom. In severe cases, the roots will rot.

Solution: Just keep the soil in the pot slightly moist, don't water too much. If the soil is too dry, do not water it all at once, but increase the amount of water gradually.
