What to do if rose leaves are curling

What to do if rose leaves are curling

1. Infected with powdery mildew

(1) Symptoms: If the old leaves are bent and the new leaves are also bent, then it is definitely infected with powdery mildew. This is not only a threat to the leaves, but also has an impact on the growth of the flowers, so measures must be taken immediately.

(2) Method: In daily maintenance, diseased branches and leaves should be removed, and then the plant should be placed in a windy area and given more fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium to make it more resistant. If the disease is very serious, it needs to be treated with medicine. If it does not germinate, lime sulfur can be used to kill the bacteria.

2. Infected with pests

(1) Symptoms: If the newly grown leaves are not only bent but also have tiny insects on them, then they may be infested with aphids or spider mites. These two insects will eat up all its leaves, causing serious impact on its growth.

(2) Method: You need to completely remove the branches and leaves infested with insects, and then spray them with some insecticide to kill the insects completely. In addition to removing the insects on the leaves, the medicine must also seep into the soil to kill the insect eggs in the soil. Or you can change the soil, clean the roots, and then put it in a new pot.

3. Suffered from flooding

(1) Symptoms: Too much water will cause waterlogging, especially when the soil has poor drainage. The roots will rot and the leaves will not get enough nutrients, so they will bend and fall off.

(2) Method: If the waterlogging situation is severe, the plant should be dug out and replaced with a new pot. If the situation is relatively minor, you can pile some soil at its base to allow adventitious roots to grow on its root neck.

4. Insufficient fertilizer

(1) Symptoms: If the leaves turn yellow and bend, the flowers are small, and the branches are thin, then it is lacking fertilizer.

(2) Method: Fertilize it according to the fertilizer it lacks. If the root is injured due to severe deficiency, apply fertilizer to its leaves, preferably in the evening, and sprinkle it on the back of the leaves to help it recover as soon as possible. If it is very weak, give it more times, with smaller dosages, to prevent fertilizer damage.
