Can tea dregs be used to grow flowers?

How to grow flowers

In fact, if you ask whether tea residue can be used to grow flowers, the answer is yes.

Tea contains a lot of elements, such as potassium oxide, organic carbon, etc. These are suitable for growing flowers, and the effect is quite good.

There are two ways to use tea leaves to grow flowers.

The first is to ferment it. You can use a plastic bucket, pour the tea leaves and leftover tea into it. After half the bottle is filled, you can cover it with a lid and wait for it to ferment. This method is actually a relatively time-consuming one, usually taking half a month or even a month. Once fermentation is complete, it can be used as fertilizer and mixed into the soil. But be careful not to rely solely on tea dregs as a fertilizer.

The second method is to dry the tea leaves in the sun, making sure they are very dry, and then mix them into the soil as flower fertilizer. This method is relatively clean and hygienic.

Things to note when growing flowers

In fact, although tea residue can be used to grow flowers, it cannot be used casually.

This is mainly because tea and tea leaves contain a large amount of caffeine. This ingredient actually has no direct effect on plant growth and may even change the properties of the soil. Secondly, placing tea residue directly on the soil will affect the soil's ability to absorb moisture and make it airtight. It will also rot over time, which is not conducive to plant growth. Another point is that tea residue will ferment in the flowerpot. This process will consume a lot of energy in the soil and release heat, which will affect the growth of flowers.
