What to do if Phalaenopsis grows too slowly

What to do if Phalaenopsis grows too slowly

Phalaenopsis grows slowly because the temperature is not suitable

Phalaenopsis is a plant that likes warmth and is afraid of cold. When cultivating it, one of its characteristics is that too high or too low temperature will cause it to grow slowly.

The suitable temperature for Phalaenopsis to grow is between 15℃ and 20℃. In summer, when the temperature is higher than 32℃, the plant will enter a dormant state and grow slowly. In winter, when the temperature is below 10℃, Phalaenopsis will also stop growing.

Therefore, when raising Phalaenopsis, you should pay attention to cooling in summer and take insulation measures in winter. Especially in winter, to prevent the plant from dying due to low temperatures.

Phalaenopsis grows slowly because of improper fertilization

There are two main reasons for improper fertilization of Phalaenopsis. One is insufficient fertilization. Phalaenopsis likes fertilizer. If there is insufficient fertilization, the Phalaenopsis will not have enough nutrients to grow, so it will grow slowly. You can apply some nitrogen fertilizer appropriately and less phosphorus and potassium fertilizer.

However, there is another situation which is excessive fertilization. Although Phalaenopsis likes fertilizer, you still need to master certain techniques in fertilizing it and don't use too much fertilizer. Too much fertilizer will lead to excess nutrition, which will also inhibit the normal growth of Phalaenopsis.

Therefore, when applying fertilizer, you must control the amount of fertilizer. It is better to apply fertilizer thinly and frequently. If necessary, you can apply diluted fertilizer water.

Phalaenopsis grows slowly because the flowerpot is too small

In the process of cultivating Phalaenopsis, the plant will continue to grow. Sometimes, if the pot is not changed in time, the flower will be large and the pot will be small, which will affect the further growth of Phalaenopsis.

Depending on the growth condition of the Phalaenopsis, you can replace the flowerpot and soil. Generally, you should choose a slightly larger flower pot.
