How to grow hydrangeas to make them more vigorous?

Hydrangea , also known as hydrangea, is loved for its abundant flowering period and its tolerance to cold and heat. Its flowering period usually extends from April to June, and some varieties can even continue to bloom in summer. Hydrangeas have a long flowering period, abundant flowers, and each flower looks particularly spectacular. Many friends are growing hydrangeas, but it is not particularly easy to grow them well. So how can we grow hydrangeas more vigorously?

1. Pot soil selection

Hydrangea is highly adaptable to soil. Simple garden soil with sand or pine needles added, or even ordinary garden soil, can meet its growth needs. Avoid using overly fertile soil, especially for seedlings, to prevent root burns and scorched edges of leaves.

2. Watering management

Hydrangeas require a lot of water in summer because their roots have a strong ability to absorb water and their leaves and branches are lush. In sunny weather, especially for hydrangeas grown outdoors, you may need to water them once in the morning and once in the evening to prevent the leaves from wilting or drying up.

3. Shading measures

Hydrangeas should be exposed to more sunlight in spring to promote the growth of flower buds and branches and leaves. In summer, appropriate shade is needed to avoid direct sunlight, but there is no need to completely block it to keep the flowers bright.

4. When to change the pot

As the hydrangea grows, it is necessary to replace it with a larger pot in time, and this should be done in autumn and winter. You can add peanut shells , egg shells or pine needles to the bottom of the pot as organic fertilizer . When repotting, slightly breaking up the roots will help it grow better. After repotting, be sure to provide adequate light and ventilation.

5. Pruning method

Pruning hydrangeas is usually done after the flowering period ends. Find the buds below the flowers on the branches and prune above the buds to promote the growth of new branches so that both new and old branches can bloom.

In short, proper lighting, watering and ventilation conditions can allow hydrangea to grow healthily. Usually, try to keep it outdoors as much as possible and place it indoors as little as possible, so that the hydrangea can bloom smoothly.
