Diseases and their control of Impatiens africana

Stem rot

You can spray 1000 times diluted 50% carbendazim wettable powder for prevention and control.

powdery mildew

Powdery mildew mainly harms the leaves and tender shoots of African balsam. August to September each year is the peak period of the disease. Specific prevention and control methods are as follows:

Control the reasonable planting density, provide proper ventilation, strengthen management, and improve the disease resistance of the plants; concentrate on destroying diseased leaves and plants to reduce the source of infection; during the disease period, you can spray 10% triadimefon wettable powder 1000-1200 times diluted and other agents for timely prevention and control, but be careful not to spray under high temperature conditions above 32°C to avoid the occurrence of pesticide damage.

Brown spot

Brown spot disease mainly occurs on leaves. The initial symptom is the appearance of small light yellow-brown spots on the leaves, which gradually expand and become round to oval in shape. In severe cases, the spots connect into pieces, the leaves turn yellow, and the plant dies. The prevention and control methods are as follows: For potted African Impatiens, the pots need to be turned over in time after rain; in late autumn, diseased leaves and plants should be destroyed in a concentrated manner to reduce the source of infection; in the early stage of the disease, 50% methyl thiophanate 100 times solution, or 75% thiophanate-methyl 1000 times solution and other agents can be sprayed for prevention and control.

Pests of Impatiens africana and their control

The main insect pests are aphids, which should be promptly controlled by spraying 3000 times diluted 10% insecticide emulsion.
