Planting time and method of purple sedge planting technology and management

Planting time of purple moss

Purple seaweed is generally planted between July and September, preferably around August. The earlier the sowing time, the more difficult it is to raise seedlings and the lower the survival rate. Even if they survive, the yield will not be high and the taste will be bitter. Delaying the sowing time will make it easier to survive, but it will shorten the harvest time and reduce the number of harvests, affecting the overall yield.

Planting methods and key points of purple moss

1. Seedling management

When planting purple seaweed, the soil must be kept moist. If there is a hot and dry climate after the seedlings emerge, you should water it once in the evening. At the same time, you should pay attention to insect prevention. Early-maturing varieties can germinate in about 20 days, medium-maturing varieties can germinate in 25 days, and late-maturing varieties should germinate in about a month.

2. Planting

For planting purple seaweed, the land must be prepared in advance. Generally, the soil should be turned over twice, sufficient fertilizer should be applied, and water should be poured thoroughly the day before. Transplant with soil to prevent root damage. Water each seedling once after planting. After all the seedlings are planted, water the entire field again. Water in small amounts and evenly, and do not irrigate or water.

Precautions for planting purple moss

The soil of purple seaweed should be kept moist during its growth and development period. If drought is found, water it in time and apply fertilizer 4-5 times depending on the situation. In addition, attention should be paid to disease prevention and control, mainly downy mildew, soft rot, viral disease, black spot disease, club root disease, etc.
