Cultivation methods and precautions of Pittosporum

Cultivation methods and precautions of Pittosporum

1. Soil

Pittosporum grows better in fertile soil, and avoid using too sticky soil, which will affect the respiration and growth of the plant's roots. In addition, you need to change the pot in time during the cultivation period. When the seedlings are in the stage of small pots, they should be replaced once a year, and after the plants are formed, they should be replaced every 2-3 years.

2. Temperature

If you grow Pittosporum in a suitable temperature range, it will grow better. Try to maintain the temperature at around 15-30℃. If the desired breeding temperature cannot be reached, do not let the temperature be too low or too high. In cold seasons, they need to be brought indoors as early as possible, and the room temperature should be maintained at around 5°C. If kept outdoors, pay attention to keeping warm.

3. Water

During the maintenance period, watering should be done reasonably, and the specific amount of watering should be different in different climates. In spring and autumn, it is generally watered once every 1-2 days, and in late autumn, it needs watering once every 2-3 days. The plants need more water in summer, so you need to water them more often. The temperature is low in winter, so you need to reduce the amount of watering.

IV. Precautions

The growth ability of Pittosporum is very strong, so attention should be paid to pruning during the cultivation period. In spring, the main focus is on shaping. If the top grows relatively high, the top should be shortened appropriately, otherwise the beauty of the plant will be reduced.
