Sclerotium rot

Symptoms of white rot

Fragrant osmanthus is a plant that likes to grow in shady and humid places. When it is in a hot, humid and poorly ventilated environment, Fragrant osmanthus is prone to white rot.

When the jasmine plant is infected with white rot, white mycelium bundles will appear at the junction of its rhizomes. Sometimes white or brown sclerotia can be seen, which look very smooth and hard. This will cause the leaves at the rhizomes of the jasmine plant to wither and wilt, and gradually turn yellow and fall off.

Prevention and treatment methods

If the white rot of Fragrant Osmanthus fragrans can seriously affect its healthy growth, so effective prevention and control are necessary.

First of all, the most fundamental method is to choose healthy and disease-free plants when planting. Of course, the soil must be disinfected during planting.

Secondly, harmful substances must be removed from the soil where the aromatic osmanthus grows, such as diseased remains and weeds, which will hinder the growth of rhizomes.

Finally, in order to improve the disease resistance of the osmanthus plant, proper drainage should be carried out regularly to keep the soil moisture at a level that the osmanthus plant likes. Because the osmanthus plant likes fertile soil, it is necessary to add fertilizer regularly to ensure the fertility of the soil and meet the nutritional needs of the osmanthus plant's growth.

Viral leaf stunting disease of jasmine

In rainy, foggy weather, Fragrant osmanthus is more susceptible to viral leaf curl disease, the most important symptom of which is leaf damage.

If the osmanthus tree gets leaf diseases, it is necessary to take timely measures to prevent and control them. Therefore, prevention should be the main approach. After the disease occurs, relevant drugs should be used: 50% of carbendazim and 50% of thiophanate-methyl wettable powder should be used for spraying the plants.

The diseases of Fragrant Osmanthus are mainly divided into these two categories. Let’s quickly prevent and control them according to the editor!
