How to prevent and treat jasmine leaf spot

How to prevent and treat jasmine leaf spot

Symptoms of Jasmine Leaf Spot

Jasmine leaf spot disease mainly harms the leaves of jasmine. In the early stage, it causes brown spots on the leaves, which then gradually spread to the surrounding areas, forming large irregular spots. The diseased parts become thinner and yellow-brown in color, with light-colored fine lines on the edges. In the later stages, small black particles gradually appear on the spots, which can cause the plant to wither and shed its leaves in severe cases.

Characteristics of Jasmine Leaf Spot Disease

Jasmine is infected with fungal diseases. The pathogen can overwinter on fallen leaves and then spread through pathogen spores in spring. The disease begins in May and June every year and gradually extends to August and September. Summer is the peak season for diseases.

Jasmine leaf spot disease prevention and control methods

1. Strengthen daily care and maintenance. If diseased leaves of jasmine are found, remove them in time and destroy them in a centralized manner.

2. Increase the application of fertilizers. Jasmine should be applied with compound liquid fertilizer rich in phosphorus and potassium, which can promote the growth and development of the plant and increase the plant's disease resistance.

3. Before the plants become sick, they should be sprayed with 600 times diluted 12% green copper emulsion for prevention and control. If the disease is discovered after it occurs, they should be sprayed with 500 times diluted 40% thiophanate-methyl solvent or 50% methyl thiophanate for killing. Spray once every 7-10 days, and spray 2-3 times in a row.
