What are woodlice and are they harmful to humans?

1. What is a woodlice?

Woodlice are what we call woodlice. They like to grow in moist, warm and hidden places. It is active at night and is phototactic and can feign death. Its outer shell has a layer of grease, which prevents it from getting stuck in spider webs. Unlike ordinary insects, it mostly lives under stones, dead leaves or rotten wood, and sometimes lives in courtyards and houses.

2. Is it harmful to people?

Not only is it harmless to the human body, it also has certain medicinal value. It is often used to stop bleeding and relieve pain, and the effect is relatively good. However, it is harmful to crops. It will damage the leaves and easily cause plant defects. In severe cases, it will eat the leaf flesh, leaving only the petiole and veins.

2. How to prevent

If woodlice appear in your home, remember to open the windows frequently, ventilate the house more often, and maintain a dry environment, so that it will be difficult for them to survive. You can also spray with diluted disinfectant. Or you can put mothballs in various corners of the house to effectively eliminate it.

If it is for agricultural prevention and control, you can mix cypermethrin or cypermethrin with soil and sprinkle it on the ground. About 50-100 grams of medicine and 10-20 kilograms of soil per mu will be enough. Alternatively, you can spray the ground with DDT and then cover it with mulch, and it will be poisoned and die.
