Natural enemies of aphids, what to do if you have aphids

1. Natural enemies of aphids

It has many natural enemies, such as the seven-spotted ladybug, the two-spotted ladybug, the multicolored ladybug, etc. They eat aphids all their lives. A ladybug can eat 138 aphids a day, making it the nemesis of aphids. There are also lacewings, aphid flies, green-striped pard spiders, black aphid bugs, etc. Among them, the hoverfly preys on more aphids than the ladybug and is an expert in preying on aphids.

2. What to do if there are aphids

1. Protect natural enemies: Now that we know the natural enemies of aphids, if we want to better prevent and control aphids, we must protect their natural enemies. When managing crops or plants, be sure to spray broad-spectrum pesticides as little as possible, especially during the peak period of natural enemy activity. If conditions permit, you can also artificially raise and release natural enemies of aphids.

2. Manual control: In autumn and winter, you can paint the base of the tree trunk white to prevent aphids from laying eggs. It is also necessary to combine pruning, cut off and burn the dead flowers and damaged branches. After the leaves fall, clean up the dead branches and leaves to reduce the number of insect eggs that overwinter. When you find a small number of aphids, brush them off with a brush dipped in water.

3. Drug control: If a large number of aphids are found, it is still necessary to spray drugs. You can choose imidacloprid, marathon emulsion or cypermethrin as the drug. You can also mix chili water and laundry detergent and spray it, the effect is also better. Note that it is best to add an appropriate amount of soapy water when spraying to increase adhesion and improve the effect.
