How to grow Impatiens

1. Breeding environment

1. Soil: It is best to plant Impatiens in fertile, well-drained soil.

2. Watering: Make sure the soil in the pot is slightly moist, and do not water too much or too little. When the temperature is high in summer, you can water 1-2 times a day. There should be no accumulation of water in the pot soil. If it rains a lot, drainage measures should be taken in time to prevent water accumulation and root rot.

3. Light: It should be exposed to sunlight for at least 4 hours a day, but when the temperature is high in summer, it should be properly shaded. It should not be exposed to excessive light for a long time to avoid sunburn.

4. Temperature: The temperature suitable for the growth of Impatiens is 6-26℃. The temperature should be kept above 10℃ during flowering. When the temperature is low in winter, warming measures should be taken to avoid frostbite.

2. Breeding Methods

Sowing method: Sowing can be done from March to September, and April is the most suitable time. Before sowing, the soil should be soaked first. After sowing the seeds, a thin layer of soil about 3 mm thick should be sieved on them. Generally, the seeds will germinate about 12 days after sowing.

3. Common pests and diseases

1. Powdery mildew: It usually occurs in June. A white powdery layer will appear on the leaf surface, forming yellow spots, and finally turn into black-brown. It usually appears on the leaves or tender shoots. Once discovered, the diseased leaves should be removed in time, and then sprayed with pesticides.

2. Brown spot disease: Leaf spot disease generally appears on the leaves, and the leaves will become yellow and even die. After discovery, the dew should be removed in time, the diseased leaves should be removed in time and effective chemical control should be carried out.
