Thrips pest control methods

Thrips pest control methods

1. Remove diseased branches and leaves

Before thrips pests appear, you can choose to cut off some diseased branches and leaves in winter, remove the weeds next to them, and then destroy them together, which can prevent the occurrence of pests to a great extent.

2. Soil Disinfection

Before planting, you need to prepare the soil, disinfect the soil used for planting in advance, and remove any insect eggs that may be contained in it. For some sowing plants, you can mix the seeds with a small amount of pesticide when sowing, and then bury them in the soil. This can also have a preventive effect on insect pests.

3. Protect natural enemies

In order to prevent the occurrence of thrips pests, it is also necessary to protect natural enemies, such as aphid flies, earwigs, lacewings, etc., which can play a balancing role on thrips and are very safe and will not harm the plants themselves.

4. Hang blue insect sticky board

Thrips are attracted to blue and will fly towards blue places. Based on this characteristic, you can hang some blue sticky insect boards next to the plants.

5. Spraying drugs

If there are a lot of thrips pests, you need to spray pesticides, which can be bought at a pesticide store. Dilute the spray solution according to the instructions, and buy several types to use alternately to avoid the development of pesticide resistance. Thrips are afraid of light, so they hide during the day and come out at night. It is best to spray the pesticide in the evening, and be sure to spray it evenly and finely.
