What to do if scale insects grow on the lucky tree

What to do if scale insects grow on the lucky tree

1. Manual removal

If you find that there are not many scale insects, the best way is to remove them manually. You can pick it out with a toothpick, wipe it off with a damp rag, or remove it with tape.

2. Garlic insecticide

Using garlic to get rid of insects is also a common method, and the materials are easy to obtain. Select two garlic cloves, mash them, and then soak them in 2000 grams of water. Take the clear liquid and spray the pest location, or you can irrigate it. Spray once every 3 days, and after three times there will basically be no scale insects. However, this method will give the plant a strong garlic smell, which usually takes about a week to completely dissipate.

3. Tobacco and water to eliminate insects

This method is suitable for people who have smokers at home. Soak cigarette butts in water overnight, then add a small amount of soap solution and spray the pest parts once a day. Generally, the nymphs can be eliminated within a week, but it is ineffective for plants with serious insect infestations.

4. Pesticides

Pesticide control was a common method in the past. Agricultural mineral oil is generally recommended. As a green pesticide, its biggest feature is that it is non-toxic and harmless, and can kill insects from larvae to adults. In addition, other common pesticides include thiophanate-methyl, imidacloprid, thiophanate-methyl, etc. It is not recommended to use pesticides such as Huahushen as they are slow to take effect and are toxic.
