What to do if gardenia has worms

What to do if gardenia has worms

1. Introduction to pests

You may not have heard of this name, but you may be more familiar with it as "aphid". It can threaten various parts including leaves, stems, and flowers. In severe cases, it can cause the death of the plant. Moreover, the substances it secretes can also cause other diseases.

2. Handling when the quantity is small

Sometimes, if insect infestation is discovered in time, the number will not be too large. At this time, you don't need to go through the trouble of spraying medicine. You can crush them to death with your hands, wipe them off with a rag, or wash them off with water from a spray bottle. These are relatively simple methods.

Easier to operate. However, in most cases, the number is very large because this insect has a strong reproductive ability. So, if you still use these methods, it will consume a lot of energy and it is not cost-effective. So, let’s look at the next situation.

3. Handling of large quantities

(1) Physical method: Use a plastic bag that is large enough to gently cover the plant and the pot from top to bottom. Be careful not to touch the plants. Otherwise, these bugs are prone to movement. After covering it, light a plate of mosquito coils, put it in and seal it. The inside was filled with smoke. After a few minutes or so, the bugs can be eliminated. Moreover, because the time is relatively short, it will not cause harm to the plants.

(2) Drug method: This means spraying some medicine. The most commonly used one is 800 to 1,000 times diluted 90% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane.
