How to grow coffee orchid

How to raise

The flowering period of coffee orchid is generally in late spring and early summer. Each pseudobulb can grow 2-3 flowers. It likes hot and humid climate and needs sufficient sunshine. The sunlight is relatively mild in spring, autumn and winter, and the plant can accept full sunlight. In summer, move it to a place with partial sunlight or avoid strong direct sunlight at noon, or you can use a shade net to block some of the light.

It is better to use sphagnum moss as the growing medium for coffee orchid because it has better water retention. Water it when the sphagnum moss is half dry. When there is a lack of water, the pseudobulbs will dry up and wrinkle, but they will recover as long as you water them again. New buds will sprout from the base of the pseudobulb every spring and summer, and the growth rate is extremely fast. It is recommended to replace it with a larger pot when necessary. In addition to being able to better retain moisture, the pot will not tip over due to top-heavyness.

The main method of propagation for coffee orchid is division, which is more suitable in spring and summer. You can plant 3-5 bulbs in units into pots.
