The leaves of azalea are turning black and dry. Can azalea still survive if all its leaves fall off?

The leaves of azalea are turning black and dry. Can azalea still survive if all its leaves fall off?

1. Can I still live?

Even if azalea loses all its leaves, it still has a chance to survive. Choose a relatively sturdy branch and cut a small incision on the surface. If it's green inside, it can still be saved. If the inside is also dry, it means there is a problem with the root system and it is generally difficult to revive it.

2. How to treat

1. Drainage and loosening the soil: The most common reason why azalea leaves turn black is too much water. Waterlogging in the potting soil causes the roots to be flooded, causing the leaves to dry up and fall off. You need to drain the moisture in the potting soil first, and loosen the soil appropriately to accelerate evaporation. In addition, check whether the roots are rotten, cut off the rotten roots in time, apply carbendazim to the wound and replant.

2. Increase humidity: If the air is too dry, it will easily cause the azalea leaves to lose water. If watering is not timely, the leaves may turn black. In daily maintenance, in addition to watering in time, you should also sprinkle water on the leaves and the ground to increase the humidity of the environment.

3. Proper shade: If the light is too strong, the leaves of azalea will be burned and turn black and dry. Especially during the hot summer season, direct sunlight can cause great damage, so the plants must be shaded or placed in a semi-shaded place.

4. Pest and disease control: Azalea is susceptible to brown spot disease. Small spots will appear on the diseased leaves, and then turn black and dry. When the disease is discovered, the diseased leaves should be removed and burned immediately, and then treated with thiophanate-methyl.
