Disease and insect pest control of Belamcanda chinensis

Diseases

There are two most common diseases among them. There is a disease called "rust". This disease mainly appears in the fall, and the specific period may vary depending on the size of the plant. It can damage the leaves of the plant. In the early stage of the disease, brown rust spots will appear on the leaves of the plant, which will then slowly break and emit some powdery substances. To deal with this disease, we can choose to spray 400 times the solution of 95% sodium chlorpyrifos, once every week or ten days, for two to three times in a row.

There is also a disease called root rot, which is more common when the temperature is high and there is a lot of rain. Especially at this time, if fertilizers that are not fully decomposed or contain bacteria are used, it is more likely to induce this disease. We can choose Bordeaux liquid for spraying treatment. If the plant is seriously infected, we must remove it with soil in time, burn it, and disinfect the soil where it is located with lime.

Pests

The first pest is called the borer. To deal with this pest, we can spray 50% carbaryl in winter (because this is the time when the pest eggs hatch). If you want to deal with adult insects, you should use 800 times the concentration of 90% dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane solution in early May.

The second pest is the groundworm, which can threaten the stems of the plant, leading to the death of the entire plant. To deal with them, we must first deep-plow the soil or carry out weeding, so that the pests can be turned to the surface or buried deep, and then the sudden change in the environment will cause the death of the pests. Of course, if the number is small, manual capture is also acceptable.
