Disease control methods for rapeseed

Disease control methods for rapeseed

Major diseases

Rapeseed sclerotinia, a disease that threatens the leaves and the plant's stems and pods. At first there will be light brown spots, which will then turn grayish white and even rot, with a layer of white flocs appearing on the surface.

Downy Mildew

This disease can occur during the growth period of rapeseed, causing the leaves to dry out and the inflorescences to become not only strangely shaped but also more swollen. If a leaf is hit by this disease, there will be some subtle light yellowish spots on the front and white frosty mildew on the back, which will affect fruit set and reduce the quality of the rapeseed.

Mosaic

This disease mainly causes symptoms of visible veins on young leaves after infection. Some or even all leaf veins will turn dark yellow, and then there will be some mosaic symptoms. Some leaves may become abnormal in shape, and in the worst case the entire plant may shrink, deform, or even die.

Prevention and treatment methods

When planting, you can choose varieties with better disease resistance and carry out appropriate screening and selection.

It is necessary to prevent aphids during the seedling stage of rapeseed, check for insects frequently, and spray pesticides immediately once found. You can use 48% of Lesban emulsion.

It is necessary to carry out reasonable and effective fertilization, especially use enough base fertilizer and increase the application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers.

At the beginning stage of the disease, especially before flowering, it is necessary to apply fertilizer effectively and promptly to control and cure the disease at one time.
