Diseases and Pests of Daxuesu and Their Control

Pests of snow lily

The most favorite pest of Daxuesu is the red spider.

In the process of cultivating flowers, red spider mites are common destroyers. Red spider mites are very tiny, less than 1 mm in size. Due to their small size, they are not easy to spot. Even people with normal vision have to look carefully to see them clearly. Moreover, they mostly grow on the curved part of the back of the leaves at the beginning, so they are not easy to spot. Once the damage is discovered, the flowers are often already seriously damaged.

The red spider mites cause harm by piercing the leaves with their mouthparts to suck juice, which destroys the chlorophyll. The leaves appear gray-yellow spots or patches, turn orange, fall off, or even fall off completely. These will seriously damage the physiological functions and ornamental value of the leaves of the giant snow vine, so red spider mites are the biggest hazard to the giant snow vine.

This insect likes high temperature and dry environment, and often reproduces in early spring. It reproduces rapidly in a dry environment and is more likely to spread, so insecticide should be sprayed once every two weeks from the beginning of spring to before the rainy season to play a preventive and control role. In the daily maintenance of Daxuesu, pay attention to regular observation and detect pests early.

Diseases of Daxuesu

In fact, the snow plant is not prone to disease. As long as the environment is ventilated and breathable, and fungicides are sprayed once or twice a month in summer and autumn for prevention, it is generally not easy to get sick.

However, in the cultivation of Daxuesu, it is necessary to do a good job in water and fertilizer management, control watering, apply fertilizer reasonably, and try to avoid the invasion of smoke and harmful gases, otherwise it is easy to have root rot, seedling fall, etc., which will damage the plant and is often difficult to save.

Snow plant requires higher humidity, but if the humidity is too high, a problem will arise - root rot. Under the premise of maintaining humidity at normal times, more ventilation can reduce this situation.
