How to propagate crystal palm by division

Crystal palm division propagation

When propagating crystal palm by division, the first thing to do is to select the mother plant. The mother plant can be cut into several parts, and each part can be planted independently, which is the first step of division propagation.

The second thing is the selection of soil for division propagation: the potting soil can be 2 parts sandy soil and 1 part peat soil. Then mix the two types of soil and put it in the pot. Note that because the plant has shallow roots, it should be planted in a pot.

Just plant the prepared divisions.

Maintenance of crystal palm division propagation

When propagating by division, pay attention to keeping the soil in the pot moist during the peak growing season in spring and autumn, and water it immediately when it becomes dry.

Apply a thin layer of compound fertilizer water once a month to ensure the nutrients needed for growth. Also be sure to add a small amount of bone meal culture soil into the potting soil.

In the spring of each year, it is only necessary to use light liquid fertilizer mainly composed of phosphorus and potassium fertilizers for fertilization twice. When applying fertilizer, be careful not to spill the fertilizer on the leaves, otherwise yellow spots will appear, affecting the appearance and growth of the leaves.

Be careful not to water the newly potted plants too much to avoid causing the plants to rot; wait until the plants have new roots and rhizomes, then water them normally.

Pay attention to the light. Ensure sufficient sunlight, but avoid direct sunlight and avoid long periods of exposure to the sun. Provide appropriate shade.
