Why does the root of water-grown green radish rot? How to remedy the root rot

Why does the root of water-grown green radish rot? How to remedy the root rot

1. Why does the root rot?

1. Poor water quality: If the water used to grow green radish is dirty, there will be a large number of bacterial microorganisms in the water, which will prevent the green radish from absorbing enough nutrients for a long time and cause the roots to rot easily.

2. Lack of oxygen: If the water for the plant is not changed for a long time, the oxygen in the water will gradually be consumed, and the roots of the green radish will easily rot due to lack of oxygen.

3. Too much water: When changing the water, the water is too full and the whole plant is immersed in water, which makes the roots unable to breathe and causes root rot.

4. Temperature: Too high temperature can easily cause the roots of plants to age rapidly and thus rot. Temperatures that are too low can cause frostbite to plants, including their roots. The roots that have been frozen cannot breathe and thus age and rot.

5. Nutrient solution: Too much nutrient solution in the water or low dissolved oxygen content causes oxygen deficiency in the plants.

6. Bacterial infection: In a humid and hot environment, bacteria and fungi can easily breed, and the roots of the green radish are easily infected and rotten.

2. How to remedy root rot

1. When root rot appears, you need to use scissors to cut off the rotten part of the root system, and try to avoid damaging other healthy roots.

2. Pour out the original water and replace it with clean water. It is best to use purified water. Do not use tap water. There are too many microorganisms in tap water, which will consume the nutrients in the water and cause secondary damage to the green radish.

3. When changing the water, be careful not to soak the green radish in water. The water surface should only cover the highest point of the plant roots, so as not to hinder the breathing of the plant roots.

4. Go to the flower market to buy fungicide, put the fungicide in water, soak the plants for one day, and change the water the next day.

5. Adjust the indoor temperature to a temperature suitable for plant survival.

6. During the period when the plants' roots are rotten, only clean water is needed, and no nutrient solution is used.
