Rose cutting time

Rose cuttings can be taken all year round, but the survival rate is highest between April and May and September and October. When taking cuttings in April and May, choose vigorous and sturdy young branches for cuttings. When taking cuttings in September and October, choose strong and woody hard branches for cuttings.

Simple method of rose cuttings

Method of rose cuttings : select newly sprouted rose branches, cut the incision into an oblique surface, remove excess leaves, insert the branches into the soil, compact the surrounding soil, water it thoroughly and place it in a shady environment. Pay attention to maintain good ventilation, and it will take about 1 month to take root.

Rose cutting rooting method

If you want the rose to take root quickly, you can soak it in rooting liquid or dip it in some rooting powder before cutting it. After drying, you can plant it and it will take root quickly, and the roots will be thick and strong.

Long-term rooting: Rose cuttings usually take root in about a month after cuttings. Cuttings are generally chosen in spring and autumn, but rooting may be slow in autumn and take about 30-50 days.

Method to judge rooting: After the rose begins to take root, its new buds begin to unfold leaves and the stems do not turn black, which means that the rose is slowly taking root and the plant has survived.

How often to water : When the newly transplanted rose cuttings have not yet sprouted, do not water them too much, about once every 7-10 days. When the cuttings begin to take root and ear, you can water them once every 3-5 days.

How long to see sunlight : Rose cuttings cannot be exposed to the sun. They should be kept in a ventilated and cool place, and the humidity should be controlled. After about half a month, the light can be slowly increased. In the early stage, let it be exposed to diffuse light, and then increase the light after the branches adapt. Only in this way can the rooting be better and the survival rate can be improved.
