The difference between soft-branch yellow cicada and hard-branch yellow cicada

Soft-branched yellow cicada

The soft-branched yellow canary is a vine-like shrub with soft, curved and drooping branches.

The leaves of the soft-branch yellow thrush are papery, usually arranged in whorls of 3-4, sometimes opposite or alternate at the upper part of the branches, and the leaves are obovate or obovate-lanceolate.

The flowering period of the soft-branched yellow bell is from April to December every year. The corolla is orange-yellow, relatively large, about 7-11 cm long and 9-11 cm in diameter, with reddish-brown veins inside. The lower part of the corolla is oblong, 3-4 cm long and about 2-4 mm in diameter, and the base is not swollen.

The soft-branch yellow bell is poisonous. Its bark, leaves, seeds, flowers and sap are all poisonous, among which the sap is the most toxic. If accidentally ingested, it may cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, high fever, nausea, red and swollen lips, dry mouth and tongue. If the liquid comes into contact with the skin, a rash will appear.

Hard-branched yellow cicada

The hard-branched yellow cicada is an upright shrub with relatively hard branches.

The leaves of the hard-branched yellow bell are arranged in whorls of 3-5, and the leaves are elliptical or obovate-oblong.

The flowering period of the hard-branch yellow cicada is from May to August every year. The flower shape is smaller than that of the soft-branch yellow cicada, and its shape is like a funnel. The color is much darker than that of the soft-branch yellow cicada, and there are also reddish-brown stripes in the center.

The flowers of the hard-branched yellow candy cane are about 4-6 cm long and about 4 cm in diameter when opened. The lower part of the corolla is cylindrical, no more than 2 cm long, about 2-4 mm in diameter, and swollen at the base.

Like the soft-branch yellow cicada, the hard-branch yellow cicada is poisonous. The latex is the most toxic. If accidentally ingested, it can cause vomiting, diarrhea, fever, nausea, red and swollen lips, rapid heartbeat, and circulatory and respiratory system disorders.
