What to do if the roots of Anthurium rot

What to do if the roots of Anthurium rot

1. For soil-grown plants

(1) Cause of root rot: It is most likely caused by "root rot". It is mainly a disease caused by harmful bacteria. It is more common in May. Especially when the ambient humidity is very high and there is a lot of water accumulation.

(2) Solution: First, cut off the rotten part, and then treat its roots with disinfectant. Next, you need to spray some medicine, such as metalaxyl, on the roots. In subsequent maintenance, you need to pay attention to controlling the amount of water. Another thing is ventilation, which is also very important.

2. For hydroponic plants

(1) Causes of root rot: For hydroponics, the causes are slightly different. The main reason is the water quality. The water has not been changed for a long time.

(2) Solution: First, as in the previous case, cut off the rotten parts and then soak them in disinfectant solution for about half an hour. Then you need to change the water frequently afterwards. It needs to be changed most often in summer, once every two or three days. In spring and autumn, it can be done once every five to seven days. In winter, the frequency is the least, about once a week to ten days. When changing, pour out the original one, then rinse the container and change it again. Also, pay attention to the amount of water poured in. If it is too full, the oxygen content will be low, and if it is not enough, the water content will be insufficient. Generally, just put one-third of it into the container. You can shake the bottle from time to time so that it contains more oxygen.
