What to do if the leaves of miniature coconut palm turn yellow and dry

What to do if the leaves of miniature coconut palm turn yellow and dry

1. Watering in time

The miniature coconut palm is suitable for growing in a humid environment. If the climate is too dry, the plant's leaves will turn yellow and dry due to lack of water. During its growing period, it needs frequent watering to keep the soil moist. Generally, it should be watered once every 3 days in spring and autumn, 2-3 times a day in summer, and watered appropriately to increase the air humidity. Only in winter should it be watered less.

2. Proper shade

The miniature coconut palm has a strong adaptability to light, but prefers to grow in semi-shade. If exposed to strong sunlight, the leaves will be easily burned, and will also turn yellow and dry. Pay attention to shade in summer, especially at noon, to avoid direct sunlight. You can also use a shade net to filter 50-60% of the light to prevent sunburn.

3. Pay attention to ventilation

Low air quality will affect the breathing of the plants and it is also easy to breed bacteria, causing the plants to become sick, causing the leaves to dry and turn yellow. It is necessary to maintain good air circulation at ordinary times, especially in high temperature and high humidity environments. Proper ventilation can also reduce temperature and remove moisture, which is more beneficial to the health of the plants and can also prevent diseases and pests.

4. Supplemental fertilizer

If the palm tree lacks nutrients during its growth process, its leaves will turn yellow and dry. Therefore, you must pay attention to fertilization. During its growing period, usually apply liquid fertilizer 1-2 times a month, and stop fertilizing in winter to avoid fertilizer accumulation. In addition, the plant should be repotted every 2-3 years, and basal fertilizer can be added when repotting.
