Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of stone lotus

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of stone lotus

1. Improper watering

1. Reason: Improper watering is also an important factor in its yellowing. It is a succulent plant. If it is watered frequently, it will become soft and yellow. Failure to water regularly can also cause the soil to dry out and the leaves to dry out and turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: Watering must be done alternately between dry and wet. Do not water if it is not dry. It needs to be completely dry before watering. The surface of the potting soil should be dry for about 3 days before watering thoroughly. This can ensure that you do not water too much. If the ambient temperature during maintenance is higher than 30℃, water the plant after the surface of the potting soil has been dry for one day.

2. Temperature discomfort

1. Reason: It is not cold-resistant. If the temperature is below ten degrees, the plant will be frozen and the leaves will turn yellow. If the temperature is below zero degrees, the plant will stop growing, and the leaves will dry and turn yellow, and in severe cases will wither.

2. Treatment method: In northern regions, try to raise it indoors, and take insulation measures to maintain the ambient temperature in winter. In the hot summer, it is necessary to cool it down and provide shade in time to prevent it from drying out and yellowing.

3. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: It needs an appropriate amount of fertilizer. If too much fertilizer is applied, it will burn the roots due to too much fertilizer in the soil, causing root rot and other problems, resulting in yellowing leaves.

2. Treatment method: Get rid of yellow leaves in time and do not use too much fertilizer. If there is excess fertilizer, you can remove the plant from the pot and flush it to cause the nutrients to be lost. You can also trim the rotten roots and re-prepare the soil before planting.
