Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of calceolaria

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of calceolaria

1. Excessive watering

1.Reason: Calceolaria likes a humid environment, but is not tolerant to waterlogging. During cultivation, if you water too much, water will accumulate in the soil. This will cause its roots to become waterlogged, and it will not be able to absorb enough water from the soil normally, resulting in yellow leaves.

2. Treatment method: Remove the plant from the previous culture soil and cut off the rotten roots and yellow leaves. Then place it in a ventilated place, plant it in well-drained potting soil after a few hours, and take good care of it.

2. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: Excessive amount of fertilizer or inappropriate timing of fertilization may affect its absorption of nutrients, causing its growth to deteriorate, growth to sluggish, and leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: It needs to be removed from the original soil and transplanted into new, loose and breathable culture soil. Be careful not to fertilize right after planting. Fertilizer should not be too thick or too much. More dilute fertilizer and compound fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium should be applied.

3. Plant Disease

1. Reason: Calceolaria is more susceptible to diseases and insect attacks, which can cause the plant to grow sluggishly and the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: The diseased leaves should be cut off in time, and the corresponding pesticides should be sprayed regularly to kill insects and viruses.
