Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Bauhinia

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of Bauhinia

1. Excessive watering

Cause: Excessive watering causes excessive water accumulation in the Bauhinia pot. If the pot remains wet for a long time, some of the fibrous roots may rot, resulting in yellow leaves.

Solution: If yellow leaves appear due to excessive watering, stop watering, loosen the soil appropriately and place the plant in a ventilated place to allow the water to evaporate as quickly as possible. When watering the Bauhinia, just keep the pot moist. When the temperature is high in summer, you can often spray water on the surface of the leaves to ensure the air humidity, which can also play a cooling role.

2. Excessive fertilization

Reason: The new leaves of Bauhinia are thick and shiny. If the surface of the leaves is uneven, and the old leaves gradually turn yellow and die, it is caused by excessive fertilization.

Solution: Stop fertilizing immediately, water more appropriately, and dilute the concentration of the fertilizer solution. Alternatively, you can sprinkle some radish or Chinese cabbage seeds in the flowerpot and remove them after they sprout. This can also use up the excess fertilizer in the flowerpot.

3. Insufficient light

Reason: Bauhinia likes a sunny location. If the Bauhinia potted plant is placed in a shady place for a long time, the leaves will not receive light and cannot carry out photosynthesis. The leaves will become thinner, lighter in color, turn yellow, or even fall off.

Solution: You need to increase the light intensity of the Bauhinia and place the potted plant where it can get sunlight. In addition, there is no need for shade in the summer, and in the winter it should be placed on a balcony or windowsill with good lighting conditions for maintenance.
