Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of bamboo begonia

Causes and treatments for yellow leaves of bamboo begonia

1. Too much light

Reason: Bamboo Begonia prefers shade and cannot be grown in an environment with too strong sunlight. If exposed to direct strong sunlight, it will easily lead to slow growth and yellowing of leaves.

Measures: It is necessary to move it to a shady place with scattered light in time, but when the sunlight outside is too strong at noon, you can use a shade net to avoid the strong light.

2. Soil issues

Reason: Bamboo Begonia is suitable for growing in loose, fertile soft soil, and the nutrients in the soil must be sufficient. If you use soil with strong viscosity for maintenance, it will hinder growth and the leaves will become smaller and yellower.

Measures: Replace the soil with loose and fertile soil, mix it with leaf mold, and apply a small amount of base fertilizer to increase the nutrients in the soil, which can promote its recovery and growth.

3. Too much water

Reason: Bamboo Begonia is more afraid of waterlogging. If you water too much, it will cause too much moisture, which will easily cause water accumulation in the pot soil. This causes the roots to rot and the leaves to turn yellow.

Measures: If there is water accumulation in the potting soil, it is necessary to remove the pot in time, cut off the rotten roots, and then replant. When watering daily, pay attention to controlling the amount of water to make the soil in the pot moist.

4. Insufficient nutrients

Reason: Bamboo Begonia likes fertilizer more, especially during the growing period, it needs more fertilizer. If insufficient nutrients are caused by insufficient fertilization, its growth needs will not be met, and the plant will grow slowly, and yellow leaves will gradually appear.

Measures: If the fertilizer is not enough, it is necessary to add fertilizer in time. Apply liquid fertilizer two or three times a month to facilitate absorption. In addition, some base fertilizer can also be applied to the flower soil.
