How to Overwinter Goldenrod

How to Overwinter Goldenrod

1. Keep warm indoors

If you want the golden chrysanthemum to survive the winter smoothly, you should move it indoors as soon as possible to avoid growing it in a low temperature environment. And the winter temperature must be kept above 5℃. If the temperature is too low, the plants are likely to be frostbitten.

2. Get more sunlight

The breeding location must have sufficient sunlight, and the plants must receive appropriate light every day. This can not only promote photosynthesis, but also increase the temperature to a certain extent. It is recommended to place it on the south balcony so that it can receive sunlight.

3. Control moisture

In winter, the number of times you water it should be reduced appropriately. If you continue to water it normally, it will affect its wintering. Usually in winter, you can water the plant once every 10 days. Be sure to wait until the planting soil is dry before watering. Otherwise, too much water will freeze the plant and the roots will rot. Also, watering should be done at noon.

4. Reduce topdressing

In an environment with relatively low temperatures, the growth of golden chrysanthemums is very slow and may even stop growing, so the amount of fertilizer should be reduced, or no fertilizer may be applied for now. If you want to fertilize during the winter, try to avoid using fertilizers with high concentrations and do not fertilize too often.
