If planted in summer and autumn, sowing should be done in mid-May to early August, and harvesting can be done in early July to late October.

1. Site selection and land preparation

   Open-air beans cannot be replanted because repeated planting will easily cause root rot, resulting in withered vines and dead vines. Therefore, when selecting land, it is best to choose a field that has not been planted with leguminous crops for 2 to 3 years.

If you don't know what crops were planted before, it is recommended to drench the field with carbendazim before planting beans to kill any remaining pathogens in the soil.

2 Variety selection and seed treatment

You need to choose suitable varieties based on market demand and geographical environment, and also choose varieties that are rich in nutrition, low in fiber, and have a good taste. Before planting open-air beans, process the selected seeds before starting planting.

Before planting open-air beans, you need to increase the greenhouse temperature to promote the growth of the bean seedlings, which will be beneficial for subsequent planting. You need to set up the trellis in time, prune the branches properly, and remove all the side buds below the first inflorescence on the main vine to make it grow well.
