Effect of bagging on pomelo

1. Improve the appearance quality of the fruit : Since the bagging of Majiayou blocks dust, the microenvironment is relatively stable, and the surface of the fruit is more resilient, which can make the peel develop stably, the epidermal cells are arranged tightly, the peel surface becomes clean, smooth and shiny, and the peel tends to be thinner.

2. Promote fruit color change : Bagging will inhibit the synthesis of chlorophyll on the surface of the fruit, causing the chlorophyll content in the peel to drop rapidly, thus causing the fruit to turn green earlier. Since the coloring of the fruit after bagging is not affected by light, the color of the entire grapefruit fruit is uniform.

3. Reduce pesticide residues : Even if pesticides need to be sprayed after bagging, they will only be sprayed on the fruit bags and will not penetrate into the surface of the fruit. Therefore, no pesticide residues will be formed on the surface of the fruit, significantly reducing the pesticide residues in the fruit.

Majiayu bagging time

The bagging of Majiayu should be done after the second fruit drop, usually between the end of June and the end of July. For larger orchards, the bagging time can be appropriately postponed according to their own conditions. Bagging too early is not conducive to fruit storage, and bagging too late is not conducive to improving fruit quality.

Method of bagging Majiayu

Bags : The fruit bags used for bagging Majiayou should be double kraft paper bags with yellow outer surface and black inner surface produced by regular manufacturers.

When bagging Ma Jia Yu, be sure to open the bag with your hands. The fruit bag must be opened. If it is not opened, it will stick to the fruit, causing friction between the fruit surface and the bag, and even affecting the expansion of the fruit.

After opening the bag, lift up the bottom of the bag, open the vent, then put the bag into the grapefruit, cover the bag on the fruit stalk, tighten the bag on the fruit stalk, and wrap it tightly with the fine wire at the bag opening, with appropriate tightness.

The bag mouth must not be loose to prevent rainwater and pests from entering the bag mouth without damaging the fruit stalk. Leaves and branches cannot be covered in the bag, which will damage the surface of the fruit and may cause pests and diseases.
